Kawartha Nordic
Kawartha Nordic Ski Club (KNSC or simply Kawartha Nordic) is a nordic ski area and club located in North Kawartha township, Peterborough County, Ontario. It was founded in 1976 by a group of avid cross country skiers in Peterborough, Ontario. Today it offers 46 km of both classic and skate trails, as well as 9 km of snowshoe trails through scenic, Canadian Shield wilderness. Kawartha Nordic owns 350 acres of land just north of Haultain and holds a land use permit for our remaining trails on crown land. Kawartha Nordic is a not-for-profit organization, governed by a volunteer board of directors, and operated by several seasonal staff and numerous volunteers
Monarch Ultra
The Monarch Ultra is a running, conservation and documentary project to raise awareness for monarch butterflies, a species at risk of extinction. Since 2019, the Monarch Ultra has triggered action across communities through their ultra marathons and outreach events, with a goal of increasing conservation awareness in North America. In the fall of 2023, the Monarch Ultra is planning a series of running events alongside festivals in Canada, USA and Mexico
Kawartha Lakes
Lightening
Established in the fall of 2018, the Kawartha Lakes Lightening Running Club is a non-for-profit. This is a coached program that was designed to meet the needs of competitive runners across various age groups and abilities. The program is group coaching designed to help you gain speed, strength, as well as stamina, and learn proper training techniques from our amazing coaching team. We can handle all speeds, so don't worry about being too fast or too slow for this group. Just come ready to run!
